Komotini

This artwork was specialy made for the reunion of Komotini University fellow-students of Law School. I dedicated it to them with all of my love for the wonderful time we had together. I''ve tested the digital prints again and again. Here is the final artprint on fine art paper.

Artprints

Searcing for the proper quality and weight of paper for my artprints I made a lot of print tests. Here I am happily holding one of the first artprints on fine art paper. One of my Kytherian Landscapes.

With the actor Elias Logothetis

Elias Logothetis is a great actor (one of my favourites) and an admirer of Lafcadio Hearn's works. It was great to meet him and offered him the three books I translated. Here he is reading a story from «Kotto».

Shiro Sano

The famous actor Shiro Sano, guest of a Japanese TV programm, shows the photo with the credits of «Nostalgia» performance. I am so proud I worked for this important project.

Tety and Kyoji

With the great Japanese musician Kyoji Yamamoto after the succesful performance of «Nostalgia-The eternal home of the spirit». «Nostalgia» is based on Lafcadio Hearn's stories. I translated the subtitles into Greek.

Here I am with Shiro Sano and a Greek friend. After the performance "Nostalgia" I became a great fan of Shiro's art.

At Lafcadio Hearn's Museum

The three books I translated became parts of the newly installed Lafcadio Hearn's Historical Center at Lefcada. I am thankful for the great honour.

Shoko, Takis and the books

Shoko Koizumi and Takis Efstathiou are checking the last details for the opening of Lafcadio Hearn (aka Yakumo Koizumi) Museum. In front there are the three Hearn's books I have translated next to the first editions.

When the dreams come true

Many thanks to the Kytherian World Heritage Fund, who published the Lafcadio Hearn's books in Greece. The small sculpture is a Masaaki Noda's artwork. It's always on my desk as a lucky charm.

Having coffee with my new frends

It seems so easy to make friends in Lefcada. Maybe the spirit of Lafcadio Hearn joins the admirers of his work. Here are my new friends Ourania, Sotiris and Hara.

At Lafcadio Hearn's house

Although I was in great pain because of my injured leg, I walk through the narrow streets of Lefcada island to the house where Lafcadio Hearn was born. And here I am widely smiling in front of the house. Lafcadio made me to forget my pain.

With the painter Sotiris Therianos

During my first trip to Lefcada I had the opportunity to meet the painter Sotiris Therianos and visit his studio. I absolutely adore his artwork and his point of view!

Here we are at the comics workshop at Thessaloniki. When the workshop was over I spend some time making sketches with an artist friend of mine.

Festival of Multilingualism

I took part at the 2nd Festival of Multilingualism at Thessaloniki with a comics workshop for children and a lecture about Lafcadio Hearn for the grown ups. I also had the priviledge to design the Festival's poster and the poster of the Multilingualism Cafe.

How surprised and happy i was when I saw my comics «The Capsule» (alright, Izola's comics) posted on the glass door of a bookstore of Thessaloniki.

Comicdom

I took part at Comicdom with seven posters and two fanzines. Or should I say that Izola took part. You know, my cartoon alter ego.

Chocolate

The two pages comic «Chocolate» is ready! «Chocolate» was the participation of Izola to an album of various comic creators.

Tety and Magda

Magda Mystikou-Karagianniotou, art collector and journalist, visited Izola's exhibition at the Lux Cafe. I feel lucky I met such an excellent person who honours me with her friendhip.

Izola exhibited her artwork for the first time at the Lux Cafe, at Thessaloniki. The exhibition was so succesful that lasted for three more months. I would like to thank Elias Kiratzopoulos and all the wonderful people of Cafe Lux.

«Kotto»'s presentation

Kotto was ready for the great opening of the tribute to Lafcadio Hearn. Everybody was there. Shoko Koizumi came all the way from Japan to honour the evening with her presence. Here I am with Rania Kliari and the owner of Beton7.

When the dreams come true

"Kotto" is printed, binded and ready! I took a copy and rushed to Takis Efstathiou. He was ovewelmed seeing the book. He searched his archives, found the first edition of Kotto (1902) and placed the two books together. «After 102 years Lafcadio Hearn obtains his mother language» he said.

My cat keeps me good company when I work late at night. The only problem is that he wants to use my arm as a pillow.

Martis, my dog, has been always a trusted friend and a good companion. I am so lucky having such a wonderful dog!

Flying beyond control

What a great moment when I took in my hands the fanzine I made with Dimitris Magliplis! I enjoyed it with a cup of excellent coffee!

Kalokairina (books for summer)

The white covered book is one of first works I made. «Kalokairina» is a series of six books written by Angeliki Varella (one of the most important Greek writers). After two decades, «Kalokairina» are still at the bookstores windows.

Special Olympics

Here I am wearing a red scarf with Angeliki Varella with the blue dress. The commitee of Greek Special Olympics and the state honoured us for the creation of a wondeful book about the Special Olympics.
