Speaking about Lafcadio Hearn at the members of the Lions Club "Macedonia"
The event was organized by the Lions Club "Macedonia" and the chairperson Mrs. Eirini Georgopoulou in the lounge of the Club (Aristotle 6 and Tsimiskes, Thessaloniki) on October 9.
I had the pleasure and the honor to be introduced to the attendants by Magda Mystikou, Journalist – Art Writer and Representative of the «Greek Association of Tourism Journalists & Writers – FIJET»
MY SPEECH
It is fine for the speaker to enlist distinguished audience and Lafcadio Hearn pulls chosen people. Everybody touched the odyssey of Lafcadio, who found in the books that lacked affection. He alone conquered the Greek spirit, he traveled half the world with his vision higher than the miseries, hardships and physical weakness. He faced everything with free spirit, with a broad understanding, with sensitivity to diversity, without prejudice and without discrimination, having love for tradition and respect for nature.
